Vice City
The franchise's modern take on Miami and GTA VI's primary urban setting.
Vice City
Type: Region (city) - Status: Confirmed
Vice City is the franchise's modern reimagining of Miami and the primary urban setting of Grand Theft Auto VI. It sits within the fictional state of Leonida and serves as the heart of Jason and Lucia's story.
The city
Rockstar describes Vice City as "the darkest side of the sunniest place in America" - a place of neon, beaches, nightclubs, and wealth layered over crime and desperation. Trailer 2 showcases the city's nightlife and waterfront alongside the grittier corners where the protagonists operate. The city returns decades after its appearances earlier in the series, now rebuilt for current-generation hardware with far greater density and detail.
Its role in the story
Vice City is where "an easy score goes wrong," setting the central plot in motion. It is the densest, most detailed part of a map that also extends into the surrounding swamps, towns, and keys of Leonida, making it the hub from which Jason and Lucia's criminal rise begins.
Precise map coordinates are not yet available — this region is placed approximately on the interactive map.
